This event is being developed as a follow-up activity of the Seminar organised last year in conjunction by Fundación Torcuato Di Tella and TUDelft, (“Territorios del Agua”) within the scope of Delta Alliance activities in Argentina, with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Buenos Aires.
Fundación Torcuato Di Tella, Delta Alliance Argentinean Wing, Delft University of Technology (TUDelft, Delta Urbanism) and the International Forum on Urbanism (IFOU) are organising a series of three webinars on nature-based solutions (NBS) which will be developed in a weekly sequence during November 2020. This initiative was selected in the Call “DA Wing Activities Fund 2020” of Delta Alliance International (NL) and is also sponsored by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Buenos Aires.
The first webinar will be based on the discussion of the theoretical dimension of NBS, the benefits associated with these methods, and a general review of experiences around the world. In the second webinar, the dimensions of design, planning and governance will be assessed and illustrated through the presentation of theories and cases. The third webinar will focus on the economic aspects of NBS concerning circular economy and business models.
Each webinar will be structured around two keynote presentations of experts on the field, and two case presentations of around the world. Then, the participants will be gathered into groups to discuss the lessons learnt, and at the end, all the conclusions will be shared with the entire audience. The IFOU will deliver certificates of attendance in case of assistance to the three webinars.
The webinars will be a relevant activity as it will create a space of discussion between experts from different countries who will share their experiences, a stepping stone to develop a network to implement further activities soon.
